ābnamā

ābnamā has established herself as an integral part of Berlin’s queer nightlife. As co-curator of the long running underground queer gem DUMP she has built a loyal following leading to her recent residency at the city’s beloved queer powerhouse Body Language (listen to her RA Mix of the Day recorded there last summer) as well as appearances in various European and Asian cities. 

With unwavering fidelity to the unknown within the familiar, she draws in and holds dancefloors through carefully crafted narrative arcs which methodically unravel towards moments of chaotic rupture where the liberating disorder opens up to new desires and new ways of listening and moving, as if engrossed in stories told in a language never spoken before.  

As an obsessive digger, heavily influenced by the obscure and the occult, she rediscovers lost lineages and weaves back together buried and unspoken fantasies from the legacy of the past three decades of dance music and beyond, be it through American midwest oddities or UK and European trance and acid which she sifts through with a keen ear for the highest camp.
